Making the Transition From Antiperspirants to Deodorants

Many of your customers will be making the switch from antiperspirants to using our new deodorant. Keep this information in mind to share with them to make their transition a smooth one.

Antiperspirants contain aluminum salts (aluminum chlorohydrate) that absorb into your skin, temporarily blocking perspiration from escaping sweat glands and reaching the skin’s surface. Antiperspirants prevent the natural process of perspiration.

Deodorants, like Protect Deodorant, neutralize odour. While they do not prevent perspiration, they are enriched with natural powders to absorb wetness, which can foster an environment that allows odour-causing bacteria to grow.

There may be an adjustment when people switch to a deodorant from an antiperspirant:

  • Potentially more underarm perspiration
  • A brief, transition period of increased odour as pores beneath the arms unblock
