Select Shaklee Body, YOUTH, and Pomifera products now carry the EWG Verified ® mark. Shaklee is proud to partner with EWG (Environmental Working Group), an organization whose work is fundamental to consumer safety and critical to creating a healthier world.

A symbol of cleaner choices, future-forward consciousness, and safeguarding the health of future generations, EWG educates individuals about potential environmental hazards and their effects on human health. Through their research, advocacy, and legal efforts, they strive to create a healthier world for everyone by providing valuable resources and information to empower individuals to make informed choices about their health and well-being.

The EWG Verified mark will introduce Shaklee to an audience of over 30 million consumers who are looking for products that align with their values!

What does EWG Verified Mean?

With thousands of consumer products on the market, it can be overwhelming to know which ones are safer and healthier for you and your family.

EWG VERIFIED® was created to make it easier for everyone, everywhere, to find safer, healthier consumer products.

When you see the EWG VERIFIED mark on a product, you can be sure it’s free from EWG’s chemicals of concern and meets its strictest standards for your health. This mark helps eliminate confusion about baseless marketing “clean” terms and greenwashing.

Some note-worthy facts about the EWG Verified Program:

  • It is the only third-party certification or evaluation program that publicly discloses its full criteria, has scientists on staff, and requires full transparency of ingredients – including fragrance.
  • The scientific standards underlying the EWG VERIFIED program are backed by decades of research and expertise in toxic chemicals and human and environmental health. These strict standards are dynamic – they’re updated annually to reflect the latest scientific evidence available.
  • As of February 2023, one in two young adults (age 18-34) and one in two parents were familiar with EWG VERIFIED

Are we seeking to verify all Shaklee personal care and cleaning products?
  • It is a goal to verify as many Shaklee products as possible. While Shaklee has the best clean standards in the industry, some formulations may not be compatible with EWG’s criteria, and may therefore be ineligible for the seal.
What about Shaklee Nutrition products?
  • At this time the EWG VERIFIED program only evaluates personal care and cleaning products.
Besides EWG VERIFIED products, how does EWG choose all the other products to score 1 – 10 or A- F? 
  • EWG receives product inquiries from various sources such as recommendations from consumers, third parties like labelinsight, and/or brands that reach out asking to upload their products into the SkinDeep system. Skin Deep scores products based on the ingredient lists on the label. EWG VERIFIED products on the other hand are evaluated by the entire formula, not just an ingredient list.
