Our Commitment to a Better, Healthier Planet

At Shaklee, our top priority is healthier lives, healthier communities, and a healthier planet. As part of our legacy, for more than 60 years, we have been stewards of sustainability and environmental health.

Shaklee is proud to be the first company in the world to obtain climate neutral certification! We have been carbon neutral since 2000. This means for 25 years we have offset our CO2 emissions, resulting in a net zero impact on the environment. This Silver Jubilee milestone marks our commitment to sustainability and reducing our environmental impact.

Being carbon neutral means that we have measured our carbon emissions, reduced them as much as possible, and offset the remaining emissions through verified environmental projects.

We’re proud to share the progress we’ve made together, as we continue to build a healthier, greener planet.

Here’s how we are turning our sustainability vision into action and achieving tangible results:

  • 25 years of being carbon neutral: We were the first company in the world to be certified carbon neutral back in 2000.
  • Over 25 billion plastic bottles saved from landfills1 with Basic H2. Fun Fact: Basic H2 was the first official Earth Day product.
  • Transitioned from Life Shake canisters to resealable gusset bags. Life Shake gusset bags are 80% lighter to ship and use 60% less water and fossil fuel to manufacture than canisters. Our scoop is made from 100 % post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic and is recyclable – which keeps an equivalent of 10 bottle caps out of landfills.
  • Refillable packaging for Vivix® Gummies and YOUTH Ageless Face & Neck Wand that lowered packaging weight by 90%, and reduced fossil fuel, emissions, and water use by 94%.
  • Packaging for all Shaklee Body products is made up of 37%–77% recycled plastic.
  • YOUTH® Radiance C + E capsules are 100% biodegradable and plant based.
  • Every year we plant over 40,000 trees with our partnership with American Forests.
  • We have partnered with EcoVadis®, a business sustainability ratings provider, to gain Scope 3 insight into our suppliers’ sustainability and carbon management practices, and have made improvements based on those findings.

Want to know how you can practice sustainability habits in your own life? Here are some easy tips:

Reduce Waste

  • Use Reusables – Bring your own water bottle, coffee cup, and shopping bags
  • Compost Food Scraps – Reduce landfill waste by composting organic matter

Save Energy

  • Switch to LED Bulbs – They last longer and use less energy
  • Use Natural Light – Open curtains during the day instead of using lights

Conserve Water

  • Turn Off the Tap – Don’t let the water run while brushing your teeth or washing dishes
  • Water Plants Wisely – Water early in the morning or late at night to reduce evaporation

Be a Conscious Consumer

  • Repair Instead of Replace – Fix broken items instead of throwing them away
  • Choose Sustainable Materials – Opt for bamboo, glass, or recycled materials over plastic

We believe sustainability is a shared responsibility. Join us in making a difference by doing actions that prioritize health or our planet!

1. One 473 mL (16 oz) bottle of Basic H2 when diluted as directed equals the number of cleaning use of 5,824 bottles of Windex. The plastic bottles saved from landfills was derived by multiplying the total number of Basic H bottles sold in all Shaklee markets over the last 18 years by 5,824.
